    1

    Right click your Desktop.

On the resulting menu, you should see the graphics card control panel app, open that.

Usually in that app, you can adjust the color, contrast and brightness on your screen.

    2

If that app is not available on your PC, right click your Start Button and open Device Manager.

    Expand the 'Display Adapters' section.

Please provide a screenshot of that full Device Manager window.

Try these Windows 11 display settings:

    1. Reduce overall screen brightness
      • Select the Network icon on the right side of the taskbar.
      • Move the Brightness slider left until the desktop is comfortable.
      • Or go to Settings > System > Display and adjust brightness there.
    2. Turn off content-based brightness changes
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Display.
      • Select Brightness.
      • Set Change brightness based on content to Off.
      • This stops Windows from changing brightness and contrast depending on what is on screen, which can make bright desktops and dark video scenes look inconsistent.
    3. Check automatic brightness from room lighting
      • Go to Settings > System > Display.
      • Under Brightness, turn off brightness automatically when lighting changes if it is enabled.
    4. Make the screen warmer with Night light
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Display.
      • Turn on Night light.
      • Open Night light settings and move the Strength slider to reduce blue light.
      • This can make a bright desktop easier on the eyes.
    5. If the whole Windows interface is too bright, use Dark mode
      • Open Settings > Personalization > Colors.
      • In Choose your mode, select Dark.
      • This changes Windows elements such as Start, taskbar, File Explorer, and Settings to darker colors.
    6. If colors still do not look right, calibrate the display
      • Search for calibrate display color in Settings and follow the directions.
      • Or go to Settings > System > Display > Color profile > Calibrate display.

    Important:

    • If using an external monitor, the Windows brightness slider might not appear. In that case, use the monitor’s physical buttons to change brightness.
    • If Night light is grayed out, updating the display driver may be required.
