Access cannot use the option button function

Since last week majority user of Office 365 in my learning centre having problem to add the option button in MsAccess form. Access didn't allow user to key in the value and cannot link to the field name

For an Access form, an option button can work in two supported ways:

1. As a stand-alone control for a Yes/No field
   • An option button can be bound directly to a Yes/No field.
   • When selected, Access stores -1 for Yes/True/On; when cleared, it stores 0 for No/False/Off.
2. As part of an option group
   • If multiple choices are needed, the option buttons must be placed inside an option group.
   • In that case, the group frame is bound to the field, not each individual option button.
   • Each button inside the group must have an Option Value set to a number.
   • The bound field for the option group must store a number, not text.

If users cannot type a value or cannot link the control to a field name, check these items:

1. Confirm the field type
   • If the option button is being used by itself, bind it to a Yes/No field.
   • If it is inside an option group, bind the option group frame to a numeric field.
2. Bind the correct object
   • For a single option button, set the control’s binding to the field.
   • For an option group, do not bind each button individually. Bind only the group frame.
3. Set Option Value for each button in a group
   • Open the form in Design View.
   • Select the new option control.
   • Press F4 to open the property sheet.
   • Check the Option Value property.
   • Make sure each option has the correct numeric value.
4. If adding a button to an existing option group, use cut and paste
   • Dragging an existing control into an option group does not make it part of the group.
   • The control must be Cut and then Paste into the selected option group frame.
5. Check for invalid Control Source or Record Source
   • If Access reports that the field is not valid, the selected control’s Control Source may not match a valid field name, or the form/report Record Source may not contain that field.
   • Access provides error-checking options to edit the control’s Control Source or the form’s Record Source.
6. Create the control from the Field List when binding a Yes/No field
   • Open the form in Layout View or Design View.
   • Press ALT+F8 to open the Field List if needed.
   • Drag the Yes/No field from the Field List onto the form.
   • Access creates a bound control based on the field’s Display Control property.

If the requirement is simply to store Yes/No, a check box is the default and recommended control in most situations. Option buttons and toggle buttons are more commonly used in option groups.
