I have a server 2019 essentials server and I want to host an application on it. However, this application is not compatible with windows server but is compatible with windows 10. Can I create a Windows 10 VM on hyper-V and have it run this application and have it communicate with machines in the servers local network?

Technically yes it is possible but I suspect you're asking about licensing? Legal licensing questions cannot be resolved by anonymous forums users. Better to reach out to your reseller's trained licensing specialist or ask microsoft directly.

    Hi,
You may go with Hyper-V Server 2019 (which is free) and then create required VM's for your Essential Server and Windows 10 Client.
