Hey, so I just copied files from my friend's hard disk, it had an Expiro virus in it, I didn't run the exe file since the windows protection didn't let me saying "Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software." and then I deleted the file and ran a full scan using Microsoft Defender Offline Scan, Quick scan, and ESEP full scan, they didn't detect any expiro files, and the protection history showed the files path in the hard disk that I unplugged from my PC and the path of the same files in my PC but with the status : "Abandoned" and "Remediation incomplete". And I also closed port 22. Am I safe because I didn't run the exe file ? or is still risks there that I should prevent ? I need help ASAP !

    Hi @Yahya Waleed

The virus is likely deleted, the "Abandoned" or "Remediation incomplete" is just when Microsoft Defender used to see that file as a threat, but when it scans, it doesn't exist, this usually happends after you delete it.

    Best regards,

    Nanta
