Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Remove your @hotmail.com account from the Mail Settings. To do that,

    1. Go to iPhone Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts > Outlook.
    2. Click "Delete Account" at the bottom of the page.
    3. Once deleted, restart your iPhone and then go to iPhone Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts > Outlook.
    4. Click Add Account.
    5. Enter your email address and password.

Once signed in, restart the Microsoft Office apps or the iOS Mail app and see if you can sign in normally with your account.

If you are still having issues, let me know.

For iPhone Mail issues affecting Outlook/Hotmail, the supported fixes are:

    1. Re-enter the account password in iOS Mail:
      • Open Settings on the iPhone.
      • Go to Mail > Accounts.
      • Select the affected Outlook or Hotmail account.
      • Tap Account Settings or the Password field.
      • Enter the current password.
      • Tap Done.
      • Open the Mail app and confirm mail sync works.
    2. If iPhone Mail keeps prompting for a password or shows connection/authentication errors, remove and add the account back as Outlook.com:
      • Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts.
      • Tap the affected account, then Delete Account.
      • Go back to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
      • Choose Outlook.com and complete sign-in.
    3. If removing and re-adding does not fix it:
      • Remove the account again.
      • Go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
      • Reboot the iPhone.
      • Add the account back and complete the Outlook.com sign-in flow.
    4. If the sign-in page shows account security errors, recover access first, then sign in again in Mail. The documented cases include:
      • “That password is incorrect for your Microsoft account.”
      • “You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect account or password.”
      • “We can't sign you in”
      • verification code prompts

If one of the accounts is configured with basic authentication in Apple Mail, that can cause repeated password prompts or connection failures. Re-adding it as Outlook.com switches it back to the supported sign-in method.
