When I was registering my account, I chose work/school and somehow I ended up with a personal account. I need to change or upgrade it to a business account, how can I do this?

    Hello Erin Reid,

If you would like to create a Microsoft 365 business account, you will first need to create a Microsoft 365 tenant. The easiest way to do this is by signing up for a Microsoft 365 trial subscription. You can review the available plans and start a trial from the following page:

Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing

Once you complete the sign-up process and submit the required information, a Microsoft 365 tenant will be created for your organization. You will then be able to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, where you can manage users, licenses, security settings, and other Microsoft 365 services.

After the tenant has been created, you can add your own custom domain (for example, contoso.com) and use it as your organization's primary email and sign-in domain. Microsoft provides detailed guidance for this process here:

Add a Custom Domain to Microsoft 365

Before adding the domain, please ensure that you have ownership and access to manage its DNS records, as Microsoft will need to verify domain ownership during the setup process. Once the domain has been verified, you can assign it to your users so that they can sign in and send emails using your organization's domain name.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you need any assistance with creating the tenant or configuring the custom domain.
