Using Teams, Share Screen isn't working. No matter what I click on, nothing pops up.

    Hi Dee Dee,

Please check the following place to troubleshoot the issue:

    • Check the OS-level screen recording permission by going to Settings > Privacy & security > App permissions > Screenshots and screen recording and make sure Teams is allowed there.
    • Fully restart Teams, not just the window. Quit it from Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) to kill any lingering background process, then relaunch.
    • Isolate screen-share vs window-share In a test call, click Share and try sharing a single app window (like Notepad) instead of the full screen. If window sharing works but full-screen doesn't, it points more toward a display/driver or full-screen capture permission issue rather than Teams itself.
    • Clear Teams cache to remove corrupted cache on your device. Please follow this article Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
    • You can also check Teams in a browser and check site permissions. Click the padlock/site-info icon in the address bar and confirm screen sharing isn't blocked for Teams on the web. Try a different browser and incognito mode to rule out a browser-specific block. For example. In Firefox, click the permissions/site-info icon just left of the address bar, find "Share the Screen," and toggle it from Blocked to Allowed, then refresh the page.
    • Rule out overlay or security software GPU overlay tools (Discord, NVIDIA/AMD overlays) and some endpoint security or DLP software can silently block the screen-capture API. Temporarily disable them and retest.

If this happens in every meeting you're in including ones you host, it's worth asking a Teams admin whether the Screen sharing mode policy assigned to the account is set to Disabled. That can prevent sharing from working without necessarily hiding the button, and only an admin can change it.

I hope this provides enough clarity and helps you stay inform with your current situation.
