Hi @jarweb ,
I think you need to use SMTP matching to match on-premises user accounts to Office 365 user accounts.
This browser is no longer supported.

Hi
An admin before my time with the company set up sync from our on-premise AD to Azure AD . It seems to be working OK now but I'm not sure if the initial setup was incorrect as we now have several users who have mailboxes in Office365 but are not sync'ed with their on-premise mailboxes. They seem to be the "onmicrosoft" accounts related to our domain.
Can we safely remove the mailboxes from these users ? Is there a specific process to do this without affecting our on-premise accounts ?
Thanks
Hi
Thanks for the reply. You are probably correct for when we actually want to migrate fully to Exchange in O365.
But at the moment I just want to remove the mailboxes from the accounts which have been created accidentally so that we don't have problems in future.
I just need to know if it is safe to do so and what is the process for doing this.
Thanks
