I have one 365 subscription that expires August 31, 2026 and I have a new one. How to I start running the new one now so I don't have interruptions when the old one expires.

This is a separate email account for the new subscription

    Hi, @JKirkpatrick

Since the new Microsoft 365 subscription is under a different Microsoft account, it cannot be combined with or transferred to the old account.

Keep in mind that OneDrive files from the old account will not automatically move to the new account.

You can confirm the new subscription is active here: https://account.microsoft.com/services

If the new subscription is already active, you can switch Office to it now:

    • Open Word or Excel.
    • Go to File > Account.
    • Sign out of the old Microsoft account.
    • Sign in with the Microsoft account that has the new subscription.

    You can also try to:

    • Open any Office app (like Word or Excel), go to File > Account, and click "Update License" to refresh your license status.

If issue still persists, please let me know.

    To help narrow this down:

    1. Does the new subscription show as active on the Services page?
    2. Are you also using OneDrive with the old account and need those files moved to the new account?

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!
