On Teams I am stuck with a notification, I can see it is for a message request but when I click on it there is no message. I’ve already signed in and out and turned my notifications off and on but this notification never actually went away. It just seems to think there’s a message request that doesn’t exist

    Dear @Rachel Walker,

    I hope you’re having a good day.

Since signing out/in and re-enabling notifications did not clear the badge, it may be worth checking whether there is a pending chat or message request that has not been fully processed.

    Could you please:

    • Check your Chat list for any conversations from external users or unfamiliar contacts.
    • Open any pending request and select Preview messages if that option is available.
    • Test whether the same notification appears in Teams on the web (https://teams.microsoft.com) as well as the desktop app.

Also, could you share a screenshot of the notification and let us know whether it appears on the Chat tab, Activity tab, or only on the Teams icon?

That information will help determine whether this is a pending message request or a notification synchronization issue.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

    Warm regards,
