I recently got a new phone and do not have access to my Microsoft Authenticator, preventing me from accessing several other apps. How can I update the device?

I cannot update the device. This should not be a difficult task. The device should automatically update. The old device stopped working and there is no way to access it.

Did you have Authenticator backup enabled on your old phone? If so, this Support article may help:

I don't know if backup was on or not. I doubt it since I can't access my stuff.

I believe the default setting for Backup is ON. Have you tried a restore per the article?
