For a Windows 11 laptop that fails to pair with an iPhone, use this order:
- Confirm Bluetooth is on in Windows 11
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Windows should show the PC as discoverable.
- Check the basics on both devices
- Make sure the iPhone is turned on and nearby.
- Turn Bluetooth off on the iPhone, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
- Keep the iPhone away from USB 3.0 devices connected to the laptop, because unshielded USB devices can interfere with Bluetooth.
- Make sure the laptop is discoverable
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
- Under Device settings > Bluetooth devices discovery, set it to Advanced.
- Make sure airplane mode is off
- Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the taskbar.
- Verify Airplane mode is off.
- Remove the old pairing and pair again
- On the laptop: Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
- Find the iPhone, select More options > Remove device > Yes.
- Then try pairing again.
- Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter
- Run the automated Bluetooth troubleshooter in the Get Help app.
- It runs diagnostics and attempts to fix common Bluetooth problems.
- If pairing still fails, reinstall the Bluetooth adapter
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device.
- Shut down the laptop, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on so Windows can reinstall the driver automatically.
- If Windows does not reinstall it, open Device Manager and use Action > Scan for hardware changes.
- If using Phone Link with iPhone
- Remove the iPhone from Phone Link > Settings > My Devices if it appears there.
- Remove the iPhone from Windows Bluetooth settings.
- On the iPhone, forget the PC in Bluetooth settings.
- Turn Bluetooth off on both devices, wait about 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Start the setup from Phone Link on the PC and follow the guided pairing steps.
If a PIN is requested during pairing and none is shown, common fallback PINs mentioned for Bluetooth accessories are 0000 or 1234.
