My credit card was charged $2.10 (including tax) per month, and now suddenly there's a charge for $21.09. Please advise? thanks.

Log into any Microsoft account you have on the link below, are you able to find your original monthly subscription to Microsoft 365 Basic listed there, or has that subscription now somehow been changed to a yearly subscription or do you find two separate subscriptions?

Possible causes for a sudden higher charge include:

    1. A recurring Microsoft subscription charge was retried after an earlier payment was declined, so the late payment and the current payment can appear close together.
    2. More than one account may be using the same credit card.
    3. A subscription may have recurring billing enabled.
    4. A family member or someone with access to the card may have made a purchase.

    Recommended checks:

    1. Sign in and review order history for charges with the same amount or charges that appeared close together.
    2. Go to the Microsoft account Manage your payments page and select Investigate to look for unrecognized charges or other accounts using the same card.
    3. If the charge is for Skype, sign in to the Skype account and compare the bank charge with the Skype purchase history. Also check whether Auto-recharge is enabled, because that can automatically top up Skype Credit.
    4. If the order status shows DELIVERED, the purchase was added to the account and the card was charged.
    5. If the charge is not recognized, contact Microsoft Support and request a refund where applicable.
    6. If there is any sign the card was used fraudulently, contact the bank or card provider immediately to prevent more charges. Simply disputing the charge may not stop future fraudulent charges.
