    Hi Jennifer,

    Thank you for reaching out.

You can assign both resources to the same task and specify a different amount of work for each resource. Please follow these steps in the Microsoft Project desktop app for Windows:

    1. Go to View > Resource Sheet.
    2. Add the following resources:
      • Program Management
      • System Engineering
    3. Make sure the Type for both resources is set to Work.
    4. Return to View > Gantt Chart.
    5. Select the task.
    6. On the View tab, enable Details to display the Task Form.
    7. Right-click inside the Task Form and select Work.
    8. Enter the following values in the Work field:
      • Program Management: 2h
      • System Engineering: 6h
    9. Select OK to apply the assignments.

The task should then show 8 hours of total work, allocated as follows:

    • Program Management: 2 hours
    • System Engineering: 6 hours

I hope this information is helpful. Please try these steps and let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your time and patience.
