Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Check the subscription status directly in Services & subscriptions:
- Go to Services & subscriptions.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account used to buy Microsoft 365.
- Find the Microsoft 365 subscription.
What to look for:
- If it shows management options such as Manage, Cancel, or Change payment, the subscription is billed by Microsoft.
- Review the subscription details there to confirm whether it is active or expired.
- If the subscription has expired, renew it from that page.
Since the card appears to have been charged successfully, also check whether the notice was about a previously declined charge being retried. Microsoft notes that an unrecognized or unexpected charge can sometimes be a previously declined charge was charged again.
If the notice appeared inside an Office app, that message is often triggered by a payment problem. In that case:
- Close all Office apps.
- Check Services & subscriptions to confirm the subscription is active.
- Check Payment options to verify the payment method does not show an error.
- Restart the Office app after confirming both.
If the subscription page shows limited or missing management options, the subscription may be managed by a third party such as Apple, Google, or a retailer, and billing must be handled with that provider directly.
