When I pull up Word it says there is a problem with work and it needs repaired. It asks if I want it repaired and when I pushed that icon it just goes blank on the screen

Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

Look for Microsoft 365, click on the three dots. Choose Modify, then choose Online Repair.

If Online Repair doesn't help, uninstall it.

    Restart the computer.

    Then reinstall.

    Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into the Microsoft account you used for the subscription. Click on the 9-dot icon on the upper left > More apps.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.

    See if it helps.

    Try this in order:

    1. Restart the PC, sign back in, and try Word again.
    2. Run a full Office repair.
      • On Windows 10: right-click Start > Apps and Features.
      • On Windows 11: right-click Start > Installed apps.
      • Select Microsoft 365 or Office > Modify.
      • If prompted, choose:
        • Online Repair > Repair for Click-to-run installs. This is the more complete repair.
        • Repair > Continue for MSI-based installs.
      • Follow the on-screen steps, then restart the PC.
    3. If Word still will not open, start Word in Safe Mode:
      • Press Windows + R
      • Type winword /safe
      • Press Enter
      • Confirm Safe Mode by checking the title bar for Microsoft Word (Safe Mode).
    4. If Word opens in Safe Mode, disable add-ins one at a time:
      • In Word, go to File > Options > Add-Ins
      • In Manage, choose Word Add-ins or COM Add-ins, then select Go
      • Clear one add-in, select OK, then restart Word normally
      • If Word opens normally after that, the disabled add-in is the cause
    5. If Word does not open even in Safe Mode, the issue is likely not an add-in. Repair Office again, and make sure Windows and Office updates are installed.
    6. If only Word is affected after repair, a Word setting may be damaged. Warning: editing the registry can cause serious problems if done incorrectly. Back up the registry first. One supported troubleshooting step is to delete the Word Data registry subkey:
      • Close all Office apps
      • Open regedit
      • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Word\Data
      • Right-click Data > Export and save the backup
      • Right-click Data > Delete
      • Start Word again

If Word works after deleting that key, Word rebuilds it with default settings. Some Word options may need to be set again.
