I'm running a software package that exports reports. I have set up repeating rows in case they're longer than usual.

One-page reports are set up correctly - I can see all the information included in my Excel template file. This template has macros (i believe) to link donor software to Excel (that's a bit 'dark-magic' to me, I've just followed their instructions).

Multi-page reports either:

A, print everything on one page (tiny - there are 107 rows of information).

B, prints 'page one' many times (current version is 86 pages long...). Scrolling through the print preview pages, they're all the same. I have no rows showing, that 'should' report the next set of results.

Is it the 'macros' fighting over the layout and what information is actually shown? Once the report has one extra row to the page layout, it automatically inputs the first row results ad infinitum?

Looking at the excel report, there are another 85 rows 'after' what will print on one A4 sheet.

    Hello @PrimvsAebvtivs-8070

Based on the information you provided, it appears that you are experiencing an issue with a report exported from a third-party application to Excel. When attempting to print the report, Excel either scales all content onto a single page or repeatedly prints the same page instead of displaying the remaining data across multiple pages.

Since the report is generated by a third-party application and it could be a customized Excel template, macros, or specific print settings configured by the vendor, I would strongly recommend contacting the third-party application's support team for further assistance. They are able to confirm whether this is a known issue with their export process, template design, or macro functionality, and provide guidance specific to their product.

In the meantime, you may try the following troubleshooting steps to help isolate the issue:

    • If the exported report is in .csv format, save it as an .xlsx workbook and test the printing behavior again.
    • Create a new blank Excel workbook, then copy and paste the report data as values into the new workbook and check whether the issue persists when printing.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any updates.
