Hello.

I am trying to connect my wireless Epson printer to my Dell laptop. Windows shows that I connected the printer, but nothing prints. It keeps telling me that I cannot print.

Please help.

    Hi,

If the Q&A Assist procedure didn't work, please let me know the Epson printer model.

    Thanks.

Try these steps in order for a wireless printer that appears connected in Windows 11 but will not print:

    1. Power cycle the printer.
      • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
      • Wait 30 seconds.
      • Plug it back in and turn it on.
    2. Verify the wireless connection.
      • Make sure the printer’s wireless option is turned on.
      • Run the printer’s built-in wireless connectivity test if the printer supports it.
      • Confirm the Dell laptop and the Epson printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If there are multiple routers, extenders, or separate SSIDs, this is especially important.
      • If the printer shows Printer in error state, check for low paper or ink, an open cover, or a paper jam.
    3. Restart the Print Spooler service.
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • Type services.msc and press Enter.
      • Find Print Spooler.
      • Right-click Print Spooler and select Restart.
    4. Remove and reinstall the printer in Windows 11.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the Epson printer.
      • Select Remove and confirm.
      • Back in Printers & scanners, make sure the printer is turned on and connected to Wi‑Fi.
      • Select Add device or Refresh.
      • If Windows finds the printer, select Add device.
      • If it does not appear, select Add manually.
    5. If automatic install still fails, reinstall it manually.
      • In Add manually, choose the option that best matches the printer.
      • For a printer connected directly by USB, use Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
      • If prompted for a driver, use Windows Update or Have Disk if a driver disc is available.
      • After installation, print a test page.
    6. If Windows can see the printer but still cannot print, check the printer driver.
      • Install the latest driver from the printer manufacturer’s official site for the exact Epson model and Windows version.
      • Then add the printer again from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.

If the issue is specifically that Windows says the printer is connected but every print attempt fails, the most likely fixes from the documented steps are:

    • confirming both devices are on the same Wi‑Fi network,
    • restarting Print Spooler,
    • removing and reinstalling the printer.
