Good morning,
I have a Power BI report using a scatter chart overlaid on a map image. Each point represents a unique ActivityID, and multiple ActivityIDs/projects can share the same coordinates (LocationID).
I am using a Report Page Tooltip containing a Multi-row Card intended to display all projects at the hovered location.
The issue is:
- With Keep all filters = On, the tooltip only shows the single project/activity associated with the top-most visible point.
- If multiple points exist at the same coordinates, I must filter out the top point before I can access the points underneath.
- With Keep all filters = Off, the tooltip no longer filters correctly by location and returns projects from all locations, with no regard to the point I am actually hovering over.
- Adding fields such as LocationID to the tooltip fields bucket does not appear to change the behavior.
My questions:
- Is the native scatter chart expected to pass only the top-most overlapping point to a Report Page Tooltip when multiple points share identical coordinates?
- Has there been any recent change in tooltip/filter-context behavior for scatter charts or Report Page Tooltips?
- Is there a supported method to have a Report Page Tooltip show all records/projects/activities for any single LocationID while still plotting one point per ActivityID?
- Is this a known limitation of overlapping scatter points, or is there a configuration that allows location-level tooltip context instead of ActivityID-level context?
The tooltip previously appeared to show multiple projects for a location, so I am trying to determine whether this behavior changed due to visual configuration, a Power BI update, or a known limitation.
Thank you very much for your time and attention to this issue.
