Payment profile "Bank Code/Branch Code/City Code" field cannot be validated for any Turkish bank account
I'm trying to complete my payment profile in Partner Center (Seller ID:
93102660, product: Beat Titan, Product ID: 9N5G7CVL70TS) so I can receive
payouts for a paid Windows Store app. My tax profile (W-8BEN) is already
Complete, but the payment profile is stuck with status "Action required."
The Bank Account form requires a 12-digit numeric value in the field
"Bank Code/ Branch Code/ City Code." The field's tooltip shows the format
example "013509071007," which appears to follow China's CNAPS structure
(3-digit bank + 4-digit city + 4-digit branch + 1 check digit). Turkish
banking has no equivalent system — only IBAN and SWIFT/BIC are used
domestically and internationally.
I have tested this with TWO different banks to rule out a bank-specific
issue:
- Enpara Bank A.Ş. — IBAN and SWIFT (ENASTRISXXX) entered correctly, several plausible 12-digit combinations tried, all rejected with "Geçersiz banka kodu" (Invalid bank code). Enpara's own customer service confirmed they have no such code.
- Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. (one of Turkey's largest, most established banks) — IBAN correctly embeds the official TCMB bank code (00064), SWIFT ISBKTRISXXX, branch code 4391 provided by the bank. Same field, same combinations attempted, same "Geçersiz banka kodu" rejection.
Since two unrelated banks — one very new, one decades old — both fail
identically, this strongly indicates the issue is with the form/validation
itself for Turkey, not with any specific bank's data.
I already opened a support case (#2609030050000181) on 09/03/2026 and
am still waiting for a response.
Could someone confirm:
- What exact value should go in this field for a Turkish bank account, or
- Whether this field can be skipped/waived for Turkey given IBAN + SWIFT are already provided and sufficient per international banking standards?
Thank you.
