Redeeming Issues!

2026-09-05T10:40:03.51+00:00

Microsoft Rewards support is stuck in an automated loop and keeps sending the same reply. My account previously redeemed a gift card using phone verification, but that option has been removed and QR code redemption does not work.

My account is stuck in a verification-required state with no available verification method. Can this be escalated internally to the Rewards team?

My apologies and in this scenario, please submit a follow up ticket with the rewards team via https://rewards.bing.com/support.

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this and I understand that you have encountered an issue with the redemption in Microsoft Rewards.

From the Bing app on your phone, use it to scan the QR code and the link would be a blank page and then check if you will be able to copy the link and paste it into a inPrivate or Incognito mode browsing window and check if it would open thus enabling it to complete the verification.

There is no documented internal escalation path available here. The supported path is to contact Microsoft Rewards Support using the contact form.

For a redemption account that is stuck in verification:

    1. Check whether QR verification is actually available for the current redemption attempt. It only appears when all of these are true:
      • the reward is prompting for verification
      • redemption is being done in a web browser on a PC or mobile device
      • the reward is not set to Auto-redeem
      • the redemption is not being done inside the Bing app
    2. If the QR option is shown, use this flow:
      • Sign in to the Rewards site and choose the reward
      • Select Verify with the Bing app
      • Scan the QR code with the mobile device
      • Enter the 6-digit verification code
      • Return to the original redemption screen and complete redemption
    3. If QR verification fails, try the documented troubleshooting steps:
      • update the browser and operating system
      • clear browser cache and cookies
      • temporarily turn off VPNs, proxies, or third-party security software
      • try a different browser, device, or network
    4. If SMS verification was previously attempted and failed repeatedly, wait 48 hours before trying again.
    5. Check for common redemption blockers:
      • the phone number may already be used on too many Rewards accounts; the limit is 6 accounts per household
      • VoIP numbers are not permitted; a mobile phone or landline is required
      • redemption must be done in the same region as the Microsoft account
      • using a proxy or VPN can block redemption
    6. If verification methods are blocked due to unusual activity or too many requests, avoid repeated attempts. Waiting at least 24 hours may help, and in some cases waiting longer, up to 1 week, is recommended.

If none of the supported verification methods are available or working, the remaining documented action is to submit the Microsoft Rewards Support form for review.
