$9.99

This is showing up on a monthly credit card statement. I do not want the charge on this credit card but I can't find any records when I sign into microsoft that show this charge. What is it for? How do I find where the charge is located?

Using any Microsoft account you may have, try using the steps they provide on this link to find out what that payment was for.

If you are still unable to resolve that payment problem, this forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly, try using this method to contact their support.

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    Select Microsoft 365

    Click 'Get Home Support'.

In the box provided, type billing.

Press Enter, then on the next page, scroll down and click 'Sign in to Contact Support'.

Navigate to Microsoft 365 and Office - Manage my Subscription.

Select the 'Chat with support agent in web browser' option

A recurring $9.99 Microsoft charge usually comes from one of these causes:

    1. A Microsoft subscription has recurring billing enabled.
    2. The charge is tied to a different Microsoft account than the one currently signed in.
    3. Another person, such as a family member, used the same card.
    4. A previously declined payment was retried successfully.
    5. It was an in-app purchase.

To find where the charge is coming from:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account Manage your payments page and select Investigate.
    2. Check order history for purchases with the same amount appearing monthly or close together.
    3. If nothing appears in the current account, check any other Microsoft accounts that may have used that card.
    4. If the charge may be from a subscription that was cancelled, check Services & subscriptions and confirm whether cancellation happened more than 2 days before the billing date.
    5. If the card is no longer wanted on the account, sign in to Payment options, find the card, and select Remove.

If the charge still cannot be found in any Microsoft account, the card may be being used on someone else’s Microsoft account. In that case:

    • Contact the bank or card provider to report the card as compromised and prevent more charges.
    • If needed, use Contact Support and choose Get Help, then Contact Support for billing assistance.
