Since the printer disc is available, the installer on the disc can be used, but disc software is often outdated. The preferred approach is to download the latest driver and printer software for the exact OKI printer model from the manufacturer’s support site.
Recommended order:
- Identify the exact OKI printer model.
- Go to the manufacturer’s official support or drivers page.
- Download the latest driver/software for the installed version of Windows.
- Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen setup steps.
- If prompted, restart Windows.
If installation from the manufacturer’s website is not possible, use the disc:
- Insert the printer disc.
- Open the installer from the disc.
- Follow the printer setup prompts in the installation software.
- If prompted, connect the printer and restart the PC.
If the printer still does not install or respond, reinstall it:
- Remove the printer from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Add the printer again.
- Then use Windows Update to get the latest printer driver.
If Windows cannot install it automatically, install it manually:
- Go to Add printer and choose Add manually.
- Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
- Choose the correct port, then select Next.
- If the disc contains the driver, select Have Disk. Otherwise, select Windows Update.
- Select the printer manufacturer and model, then finish setup.
- Print a test page to confirm it works.
If the PC is an ARM-based device, use Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Add device instead of the included installer, unless the manufacturer provides specific ARM guidance.
