Hello Alcala, Maria

If you previously dismissed the leading-zero prompt, you can review the related setting in Excel:

  1. Select File > Options > Data.
  2. Locate Automatic Data Conversion.
  3. Enable the option that notifies you about automatic data conversions when loading a CSV file or similar data.
  4. Reopen the file to check whether the prompt appears again.

You can also prevent Excel from removing leading zeros by formatting the destination cells as Text before entering or pasting the values.

Please note that the Automatic Data Conversions feature is available in Microsoft 365 and Excel 2024. If you do not see it, let us know which Excel version you are using and whether the data is being typed, pasted, or imported from a CSV file.

I hope this helps you restore the expected behavior.

Feel free reply back to this post if you need further assistance, I'll be happy to help.
