    Hi Mike,

First, please ensure that both your laptop and Android app are signed in to the same work or school account. If you're a member of multiple organizations in Teams, verify that the correct tenant is selected on both devices, as chats will not sync between different organizations.

If you see a "Refresh" banner at the top of either the desktop or mobile app, click it on both devices to trigger a manual sync.

For more information, see: Sync Microsoft Teams

If the issue continues, try clearing the Teams cache on your laptop. Completely exit Teams and clear the local cache by following the steps in this guide: Clear Teams cache

After clearing the cache, sign out of Teams and then sign back in on both devices. This forces Teams to perform a fresh synchronization.

If the problem still persists, uninstall and reinstall Teams on the device that appears to be out of sync. Reinstalling can resolve issues caused by corrupted local data that may not be fixed by clearing the cache alone.

Finally, if the issue affects only a specific chat or channel rather than all conversations, please let me know. That scenario is typically related to a different underlying cause and may require additional troubleshooting.

I hope this helps. If you can share more details about what content is not syncing, I'd be happy to assist further.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Refresh or restart Teams on the laptop
      • If a sync banner appears at the top of Teams, select Refresh.
      • Or manually restart the app:
        • Windows: right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar and select Quit, then reopen Teams.
        • Mac: right-click the Teams icon in the dock and select Quit, then reopen Teams.
    2. Refresh Teams on Android
      • Open Teams and pull down in the chat list to refresh messages.
      • Mobile apps sync automatically when opened or used.
    3. Check the internet connection on both devices
      • Confirm both the laptop and Android phone can open websites normally.
    4. Sign out and sign back in to Teams
      • In Teams, select the profile picture at the top right, then select Sign out.
      • Close Teams, reopen it, and sign in again.
    5. Try Teams on the web from the laptop

If messages still do not appear on both devices after these steps, the issue may be with app sync rather than a specific chat thread.
