Why am I being charged $8.66 a month? It does not appear on my monthly statement.

Use the Microsoft billing investigation flow first:

1. Go to Manage your payments and select Investigate to search for the charge.
2. Review order history for purchases of the same amount that appear close together.
3. Check whether recurring billing is enabled on any Microsoft subscription.
4. Consider common causes of unrecognized charges:
   • a subscription with recurring billing enabled
   • a previously declined charge being processed later
   • a family member or another account using the same card
   • an in-app purchase
   • a pre-order or split order shipping

If the charge does not appear in Microsoft order history, another Microsoft account may be using the same payment method. The Investigate option on Manage your payments is the supported way to look for that.

If the payment method may be compromised, contact the bank or payment provider immediately to prevent more charges.

If the charge still cannot be identified, use Contact Microsoft Support and choose billing help.
