Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If the subscription was renewed through Best Buy, the billing and subscription record is typically managed by that provider, not in the Microsoft account billing system. Microsoft cannot directly update, cancel, refund, or modify billing details for subscriptions purchased through a third party.
Use this check:
- Sign in to the Microsoft Services & subscriptions page at account.microsoft.com/services.
- Find the Microsoft 365 subscription.
- If options like Manage, Cancel, or Change payment are missing or limited, that indicates the subscription is likely managed by the third-party seller.
Because the renewal was purchased from a retail source, one common cause of continued expiration notices is that the new subscription has not started until the product key is entered. If the renewal came as a physical box, card, or retail purchase, the product key must still be redeemed to activate the renewed term.
If the subscription was already redeemed, then:
- Check the expiration date on the Services & subscriptions page.
- If the date is correct but Office still shows expired or renewal notices, close all Office apps and open them again.
- Sign in again with the Microsoft account associated with the subscription if prompted.
If the expiration date on the account page is still wrong after redeeming the retail renewal, contact Microsoft Support. If the subscription itself is managed through Best Buy, billing changes must be handled with Best Buy.
