Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

If you were charged using the old card, I recommend requesting a refund first. Then, update your payment method and subscribe again. You can follow the steps below:

To request or get a refund, kindly follow the steps below:

    Go to: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Look for the Microsoft 365 subscription you have.

Click Manage > select Cancel, then follow the prompts to refund the subscription.

    To change the payment options:

    Go to this link: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments

    Select "Add payment method"

Then follow the prompts to add.

Then remove the old payment option.

    Dear @Charles C. Woods

Changing the payment method will not affect your Microsoft account or subscription.

You can update the new payment method here: https://account.microsoft.com/services

If you want to request a refund for the charge made to the old card, go to Manage --› Cancel for the subscription. Microsoft will check your refund eligibility during the cancellation process.

You can find the full refund information here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription

If the subscription was purchased through Apple, Google Play, or another third-party provider, you’ll need to request the refund directly from that provider. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/subscriptions/manage-your-microsoft-365-subscription-purchased-through-a-third-party

    Best regards,
    Bence

To request a refund and keep the account active, first check whether the charge can be refunded from the Microsoft account used for the subscription.

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account tied to the subscription.
    2. Select Manage for the subscription.
    3. Select Cancel if needed, because refund eligibility is checked after cancellation for Microsoft subscriptions.
    4. Follow the prompts. If a refund option is available, it will be shown there.
    5. Also check https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders, find the charge, and follow the refund prompts if a refund option appears.

If the charge was made to an old card but the subscription is now using a new payment method, refunds are made to the same payment method used for the original purchase. If that old payment method is no longer available, refund processing may not be possible through the original payment route.

If the charge is unexpected or not recognized, use the Manage your payments page and select Investigate.

If the goal is to avoid losing access to the account, note this:

    • If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and there will be no further automatic charge.
    • For Clipchamp and similar subscriptions, cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and paid features remain available until then.

If no refund option appears in account pages, use Microsoft Support contact options.
