Question

How do I cancel this account. I have been paying $10 per month for the last 5 years and have not used this.

Log into any Microsoft account you may have on this link.

If you find your subscription listed there, click Manage on the subscription, and from there, you can cancel the subscription, also, disable the recurring billing on the subscription to avoid any further payments.

You may then be entitled to a pro-rata refund, you can check your eligibility to a refund using the steps on this link.

You can cancel the subscription from Services & subscriptions.

Sign in with the Microsoft account used for the subscription, find the subscription, select Manage --> Cancel, and follow the steps.

If you would also like to request a refund for recent charges, Microsoft will check your refund eligibility during the cancellation process. More information is available here:

To cancel a Microsoft personal subscription:

1. Go to Subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account that was used to buy the subscription.
2. Find the subscription and select Manage.
3. Select Cancel or Upgrade or Cancel.
4. Follow the on-screen steps to complete cancellation.

If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire on the date shown and no further action is needed.

If there is no cancel option:

1. Check whether the subscription was bought through a third party such as Google Play, Apple App Store, or another retailer. If so, cancellation must be done through that provider.
2. Make sure the correct Microsoft personal account is being used.
3. Check whether there is an overdue balance or an expired payment card, because cancellation is blocked until overdue amounts are paid.

If charges continue after canceling, one documented reason is canceling too close to the billing date. Cancellations must be made more than 2 days before the billing date.

If the account cannot be accessed to cancel the subscription, use Microsoft support through Contact Support.
