How do I get super admin access

I am the billing and admin person in my company. How can I get super admin access that controls everything about our account.

By “super admin,” do you mean the Global Administrator role in Microsoft 365? Also, did you personally purchase and create your company's Microsoft 365 business subscription?

If you originally created the Microsoft 365 business subscription, the account used during sign-up is normally assigned the Global Administrator role by default.

If you did not create the Microsoft 365 business subscription yourself, and another Global Administrator or Privileged Role Administrator still has access to the tenant, you may ask that person to assign you the Global Administrator role.

They can do this from the Microsoft 365 admin center by going to Users > Active users > selecting your account > Manage roles, then choosing Global Administrator and saving the change.

If no administrator account is accessible (for example, the only Global Administrator has left the company, is blocked, or can no longer sign in), you will likely need to contact Microsoft Support for assistance with administrator access recovery.

To get full control (Super Admin / Global Administrator access) in Microsoft 365, follow these options:

1. Ask an Existing Global Admin

Contact an existing Global Administrator in your organization.

Ask them to go to Microsoft 365 admin center > Users > Active users.

Select your name, go to Manage roles, and assign you the Global administrator role.

2. Perform an Internal Admin Takeover (If no Global Admin exists)

If you own the domain and no one currently has admin access, you can perform an admin takeover by verifying your domain's DNS records (adding a TXT record).

Go to the Microsoft 365 signup page or admin center, attempt to sign in with your business email, and follow the "Become an admin" prompt.

3. Contact Microsoft Support

If the sole Global Admin has left the company or you cannot access the account, contact Microsoft Data Protection Support by phone.

You will need to provide proof of business ownership, domain ownership, and billing details to request access reset.
