Microsoft IP Geolocation Wrong
Hi Support Team,
Microsoft’s IP geolocation database is incorrectly identifying our newly allocated APNIC Australian based IPv4 prefix as being located in Japan.
Affected prefix: 160.236.56.0/23
Origin ASN: AS154740
Correct country: Australia (AU)
Incorrect Microsoft location: Japan (JP)
For example, Microsoft Entra Sign-in Logs currently identify 160.236.56.16 as Osaki, Miyagi, Japan, while correctly identifying the ASN as 154740.
Our APNIC registration and public IP geolocation databases correctly identify the prefix as Australian.
This is affecting multiple users/customers using addresses from this prefix, so this is not an individual Microsoft 365 tenant configuration issue.
How can this be escalated to the Microsoft engineering team responsible for Microsoft's IP geolocation/IP intelligence database so the entire 160.236.56.0/23 prefix can be corrected to Australia?
I previously opened a Microsoft support case through our tenant but was advised that Microsoft could not correct this.
However, the following Microsoft Q&A case appears to show Microsoft engineering correcting the underlying geolocation data for another customer experiencing the same issue:

I can provide screenshots from Entra, APNIC allocation information, BGP routing information and our geofeed if required.
