Academic verification link error: "client does not have access rights"

Question

I'm a university student trying to verify my academic status for Azure for Students. Each time I click the verification link sent to my email, I get the error: "The client does not have access rights to the content." I've tried this on multiple browsers (mobile Chrome, desktop mode) and it keeps failing. I've also tried resending the verification email multiple times with the same result. Please help me complete my student verification so I can activate my Azure for Students account.
