Every time I try to log in to my account, only this message appears, so I don't know how to fix the problem. I contacted Microsoft (regarding both the operating system and the website), and they told me I needed to use "Java," but I don't have that application; so please, I need help.

{"exception":"NullPointerException","error":"Internal Server Error","message":"Cannot invoke "String.equals(Object)" because the return value of "com.getinsured.hix.model.AccountUser.getUsername()" is null","timestamp":178975

    Welcome YASIN ISMAIL,

Thank you for reaching out. The error message you posted does not suggest that Java needs to be installed on your PC. Instead, it indicates that the website encountered an unexpected error while processing the sign-in request.

To narrow this down, could you please confirm:

    • Are you signing in with a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account?
    • Which Microsoft website shows this error (account.microsoft.com, Outlook.com, Microsoft Store, etc.)?
    • Does the same error appear when you try signing in using an InPrivate window or a different browser?

In the meantime, please try these quick checks:

    • Open an InPrivate window in Edge and attempt to sign in again.
    • Clear Microsoft sign-in cookies: open Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data > Choose what to clear, then clear Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
    • Try signing in directly at the Microsoft Account portal: account.microsoft.com

    Looking forward to your update.
