Early in the morning all emails were present in my hotmail account, both under Focused and other. A few hours later all emails under Focus is now missing. They are not under deleted, junk or spam.

When searching for them they do not apper. All emails under sent, other, and stored under folders are still present.

How can I get my Focus emails back?

Thanks for the help.

Please bear with me as I go over ground you have probably already covered, but this does not sound like a normal "Focused Inbox" glitch, and this might help.

1 -- Confirm that you are using Outlook Web https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/ If not, what Outlook Client?

2 -- Same problem when using a Private/Incognito browser session?

3 -- Toggle Focused OFF, sign out of Outlook Web, sign back in. Can you see the mails that used to be under Focused?

4 -- Try a different Outlook Client. Are the missing messages visible.

Try these checks in Outlook.com, in this order:

    1. Check whether the Inbox view is filtered
      • In Inbox, select Filter above the message list.
      • Set it to All.
      • If a filter was hiding messages, they should reappear.
    2. Check the Other tab
      • If Focused Inbox is turned on, messages may have been moved there.
      • Open Other and look for the missing mail.
      • If found, select the message and choose Move to > Move to Focused inbox.
    3. Check Deleted Items and recoverable items
      • Open Deleted Items.
      • If the messages are there, select them and choose Restore.
      • If not, at the top of Deleted Items, select Recover items deleted from this folder.
      • If the missing messages appear there, select them and choose Restore.
      • Messages removed from Deleted Items are recoverable for 30 days.
    4. Check Archive
      • Open the Archive folder.
      • If the messages are there, select them and choose Move to > Inbox.
    5. Check for rules moving mail out of Inbox
      • Go to Rules settings and review any Inbox or Sweep rules.
      • Look for rules that move messages to another folder or delete them.
      • Edit or delete any incorrect rule.
      • Rules can be viewed and edited only on a computer.
    6. Check recent sign-in activity
      • If the messages disappeared without any action, review recent account activity to see whether there was unexpected access.
    7. If the messages still do not appear
      • In Outlook.com, select Help on the menu bar, enter the issue, then scroll to Still need help? and select Yes.
