    Hi!

    1. Did you recently purchase an Office license? If so, did you buy it from Microsoft or a retailer?
    2. Is your email personal, corporate, or educational?
    3. Is your email from your custom domain (@yourname.com, @companyname.com), Microsoft (@outlook.com or @hotmail.com), Google (@gmail.com), or a third-party domain?
    4. Test it in the New Outlook app for Windows:

    1. Are you able to log in on a different device?

For classic Outlook on Windows, check these items in order:

    1. In Outlook, go to File > Options > Mail.
    2. Under Message arrival, make sure Display a Desktop Alert is enabled.
    3. In the same section, make sure Show an envelope icon in the taskbar is enabled if the missing “badge” is the taskbar mail indicator.

If alerts still do not appear:

    1. Desktop Alerts do not appear during the initial synchronization of an email account.
    2. Desktop Alerts also do not appear when a message rule moves a new message out of the default account Inbox.

If using new Outlook instead of classic Outlook:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Go to View > View Settings > General > Notifications.
    3. Under Notify me about, turn on Mail.

If notifications are enabled in Outlook but still missing, check Windows:

    1. Open Start > Settings > System > Notifications.
    2. Make sure Get notifications from apps and other senders is On.
    3. Make sure Do not disturb is Off.
    4. Make sure Outlook notifications are allowed in the app list.
    5. Open Start > Settings > System > Focus and stop any active focus session.
    6. Open Start > Settings > System > Power & battery and make sure Battery Saver is off.

If using Teams, make sure the Teams status is not set to Do not disturb.
