A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data.
Excel tables always include table functionality such as headers and filter drop-downs. If a table style is applied, Excel creates an Excel table automatically.
If the goal is to keep the table-style formatting but remove headers and filters as table features, use this approach:
- Select the data range.
- On the Home tab, select Format as Table and choose the style.
- Click anywhere in the new table.
- Go to Table Design on the Ribbon. On Mac, go to the Table tab.
- Select Convert to Range.
- Confirm with Yes.
Result:
- The formatting remains.
- The data becomes a normal range.
- Table features are removed, including filter arrows.
- Structured references in formulas are converted to regular cell references.
If the data is produced by FILTER formulas from different sheets, keeping it as a normal range is the supported way to avoid table features while preserving the displayed results and formatting.
