Why is Windows 11 not supported on my "Microsoft" surface book that is slightly over 2 years old.

I ran the upgrade to Windows 11 and the system checker said my CPU was not compatible.
My 2 year old $2000.00 Microsoft surfacebook is not compatible with the next version of Windows?? Really?
