I recorded a teams session. How do I retrieve the recording and send to people that missed the session?

You can retrieve the Teams recording from the meeting chat or the meeting's Recap page in Teams.

If you recorded the Teams session, the recording is typically stored in OneDrive or SharePoint, depending on the type of meeting. Non-channel meeting recordings are usually saved to the organizer's OneDrive Recordings folder, while channel meeting recordings are stored in the channel's SharePoint Recordings folder

You can locate the recording by:

1. Opening the meeting chat in Teams and looking for the recording link.
2. Opening the meeting from your Teams Calendar and selecting Recap.
3. For channel meetings, navigating to the channel's Files tab and opening the Recordings folder

Once you've located the recording, open it, select Share, and either enter the email addresses of those who missed the session or copy the sharing link and send it to them.

To retrieve the recording:

1. In Teams, open Chat and select the meeting chat.
2. Open the Shared tab.
3. Select the recording to play it.

Other places to find it:

• Calendar > select the past meeting > Recap > select Play on the recording.
• For a channel meeting: Teams > select the channel > Shared > find the .mp4 recording.

Where the recording is stored:

• Non-channel meetings: in the organizer’s OneDrive for Business.
• Channel meetings: in the channel’s SharePoint site, also visible from the channel Files tab.

To send it to people who missed the session:

1. In Teams, go to Chat and open the meeting chat.
2. Select the Shared tab.
3. Hover over the recording and select More options > Copy link.
4. Paste the link into a message or post.

Important access details:

• If the meeting was a non-channel meeting, everyone invited to the meeting can view the recording.
• Guests and external attendees can only view it if they are sent a direct link to the recording.
• If needed, select Settings in the link dialog to manage link access or request access changes.

If the goal is to download the file instead of sharing a link, only the meeting organizer can download the recording from Shared > recording > More options > Download.
