    Hi, @Important message

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. When did this start? Was it after an update or another change to your PC?
    2. Does Outlook show a loading screen and then disappear, or does nothing happen at all? Please also let me know whether it opens in Safe Mode.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already already:

Please restart your PC first. If Outlook still does not open, try opening it in Safe Mode:

    • Press Windows + R to open Run.
    • Enter the following command and press Enter:

    outlook.exe /safe

    • If prompted, select your usual profile and click "OK".

If Outlook opens, go to "File" > "Options" > "Add-ins". Beside "Manage", select "COM Add-ins" and click "Go". Uncheck the add-ins, click "OK", then close Outlook and open it normally.

If the issue persists, please provide more details by answering my questions.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!

If Classic Outlook does not open and shows no error message, try the following steps in order:

    1. Check Task Manager

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

    Look for OUTLOOK.EXE.

If it is running, select it and choose End task.

    Try opening Outlook again.

    Start Outlook in Safe Mode

    Press Windows + R.

    Enter: Outlook.exe /safe

    Select OK.

If Outlook opens in Safe Mode, an add-in is likely causing the startup problem. Go to File > Options > Add-ins > COM Add-ins > Go and disable the enabled add-ins, then restart Outlook normally.

Reset the Navigation Pane If Safe Mode also does not open Outlook:

    Press Windows + R.

    Enter: Outlook.exe /resetnavpane

    Select OK and try again.

Check for Office/Windows updates Install any pending Microsoft 365/Office and Windows updates, then restart the computer. Microsoft recommends keeping Outlook and Office up to date when troubleshooting startup problems.

Repair Microsoft 365/Office Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft 365/Office > Modify, then try Quick Repair first. If that does not resolve the issue, try Online Repair.

Create a new Outlook profile If Outlook still does not start, create a new Outlook profile and test with it. A corrupted Outlook profile can prevent Classic Outlook from starting.

If none of these steps work, please provide:

    Windows version/build

    Outlook version/build

    Whether Outlook.exe /safe opens

Whether Outlook.exe /resetnavpane changes the behavior

Whether other Office applications such as Word or Excel open normally
