    Hi,

What happens when you type "Word" in the search bar? Does it return any results?

If not, before reinstalling it, I recommend uninstalling any Office version or remnants that may be installed on your computer to avoid potential conflicts.

You may use the Office Uninstall Support Tool (Uninstaller Troubleshooter) to completely remove all Microsoft Office applications from your device and then reinstall Office afterward.

Once you open the link, click Get Help App. When the tool launches, select Yes, then click Next. Choose the option to uninstall Microsoft 365, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

    To reinstall Office:

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
    2. Sign in using the Microsoft account associated with your license
    3. Locate Microsoft Office and click Install
    4. This will download the Office installer
    5. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions

Once installed, open any Office app such as Word or Excel, then sign in using the Microsoft account associated with the purchase to activate Office.

If your Office apps appear to be missing, or if shortcuts generate error messages as you click them, the first thing to do is to search for the apps via the Windows Start menu. If you can start the apps that way, just recreate the shortcuts.

If Office is truly missing, (re-)install from your associated account at https://account.microsoft.com/services .

If only the Word icon is missing, first search for Word from the Windows Start menu. If Word appears, it does not need to be reinstalled; the shortcut can be pinned again.

If Office needs to be reinstalled with a Microsoft 365 monthly subscription:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account dashboard and sign in with the same Microsoft account used for the subscription.
    2. Select Subscriptions in the left pane.
    3. On the Subscriptions page, select Install Microsoft 365.
    4. In the install dialog, choose the language and version, then select Install.
    5. Run the downloaded installer and complete setup.
    6. When installation finishes, open Word or Excel while connected to the internet.
    7. If prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account to activate Office.

If Office originally came preinstalled on the HP PC and was activated without a product key or without a Microsoft account, reinstall it from the Microsoft Store instead:

    1. Open Start > Microsoft Store.
    2. Select Library > Apps.
    3. Turn off Show installed products only if that filter appears.
    4. Find the Office product and select the Cloud button.
    5. Follow the prompts to finish installation.
