Since uninstalling/reinstalling, restarting, clearing old drivers, hidden printers, queues, imaging devices, USB devices, and checking Print Spooler have already been tried, the next supported path is to refresh the printer setup through Windows and test the driver state directly.
- Run the Windows 11 printer troubleshooter in Get Help.
- This runs diagnostics and attempts to fix common printer problems automatically.
- Verify the printer is still using a working driver path.
- Open Start > Device Manager.
- Expand Printers.
- Right-click the HP Envy 5530 > Update driver.
- If no update is available, select Uninstall device.
- Restart the PC so Windows attempts to reinstall the printer driver automatically.
- Remove and re-add the printer from Windows Settings.
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the printer > Remove.
- Restart the PC.
- Return to Printers & scanners > Add a printer or scanner.
- Let Windows install the recommended driver.
- After reinstalling, use Windows to update the driver again.
- In Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > select the printer > Manage > Update driver.
- If Windows cannot provide a suitable driver, install a driver from the printer manufacturer that matches the Windows version and system type.
- If the problem started immediately after a recent driver update, roll back the printer driver.
- Open Start, type Device Manager, and open it.
- Expand Printers or Print queues.
- Right-click the printer > Properties > Driver tab.
- Select Roll Back Driver if available.
- Restart the PC.
- Power-cycle the printer and PC once more after the driver change.
- Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds.
- Restart the PC.
- Turn the printer back on and test printing again.
- If the printer installs but still is not recognized correctly, set it as the default printer.
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the printer > Set as default.
If the issue began right after the Windows update and the printer installs correctly but still will not print, the most relevant supported actions are: run the troubleshooter, remove and re-add the printer through Printers & scanners, update or roll back the driver in Device Manager, and let Windows reinstall the recommended driver.
