Azure Static Web Apps custom domain xx fails with ResourceOperationFailure. The CNAME points to the app’s default hostname. The Azure hostname status is still Failed, although the Terraform pipeline now succeeds. How can the failed domain provisioning be cleared?

    Hi Quincey,

Since the CNAME is correct and Terraform now succeeds, this looks similar to previous Azure Static Web Apps custom domain cases where the domain remained stuck after a failed operation. Microsoft confirmed mitigation had been applied in similar cases.

I suggest removing the failed custom domain entry and then add it again once it has cleared.

If it still returns ResourceOperationFailure or remains in Failed/Deleting, please raise an Azure support request for further investigation.

When raising the request, please include the Static Web App resource ID, custom domain, Activity Log error and correlation ID if available.

    Hope this helps.
