I connected my work tablet to my phones authentication app it sent the first code but when I tried to reconnect after enabling the app now it won’t send me another Authenticator required code so that I can open my work tablets app back up.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Open Microsoft Authenticator manually on the phone. Sometimes the prompt does not appear as a pop-up, but the number match or approval request is waiting inside the app.
    2. Make sure the app is unlocked. If Microsoft Authenticator is locked, the entry box might not appear and authentication can fail.
    3. Check that notifications are enabled and not silent. Silent or disabled notifications can prevent the prompt from appearing. Also check whether any authentication code arrived silently.
    4. Check the phone connection. If the phone has network issues, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data and try again.
    5. Verify the phone date and time are correct. Incorrect date and time settings can prevent authentication from completing.
    6. Update Microsoft Authenticator to the latest version. An outdated app version can cause sign-in problems.
    7. If the sign-in page offers another verification method, use it. If more than one verification method is configured, select a different method on the sign-in page.
    8. If using text message or phone call verification, try up to five times in 5 minutes. Third-party security apps can also block verification texts or calls, so disable that protection temporarily if applicable and request another code.
    9. If this is a work account and it still fails, send logs from the app and contact the IT admin. In Microsoft Authenticator, open the top-level menu and select Send feedback. For work or school accounts, the next step is to reach out to the IT admin.
    10. If access is completely blocked, the MFA registration may need to be reset. For users who cannot get into the account, the account can be reset so registration is completed again.
