Greetings. I have been billed $10.81 twice a month for over a year through Paypal. I cancelled all payments by my Paypal account in September. I then contacted you to give you details about my method of payment. On September 9, 2026, my checking account was debited directly to you, not Paypal, in the amount of $10.81. Today, I recieved a text stating my balance with you is overdue. Please contact me so we can resolve this. Thank you.

Can you go to your account https://account.live.com Sign in and go to Services & Subscription, do you see anything that matches the charges? If not, click on Order history instead and anything?

Micosoft lists some other scenarios you can explore: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft-398c5328-364c-d5e4-ea8f-f5ad60562a93

If you find the charges on YOUR account but you don't recognize making those purchase, for your privacy and security, billing matter cannot be discussed here, nor does anyone helping here have access to such data. You will need to contact support to get it handled. On your computer, launch the Get Help app from the start menu, then type in "Billing" as the keyword. On the next page, you can click on "Contact support" button. Then fill out a few more details and you will be directed to the page where you will have the option to chat with a live support agent.

If you cannot locate the charges on your Microsoft account at all, it's possible that your credit card has been compromised. This means unauthorized charges may have been made on someone else's Microsoft account using your credit card. In such a scenario, you should contact your credit card company to open a dispute case. Microsoft is unable to directly investigate issues related to someone else's account if you contact their Billing Support directly. However, once a dispute case is initiated by your credit card company, Microsoft can then respond specifically to those claims through the dispute process with the credit card company. This is the appropriate channel to resolve such issues, as it ensures proper verification and handling of the unauthorized charges.

    1. Check whether these are truly duplicate charges or a late payment plus the next on-time payment. Microsoft notes that if a payment could not be collected earlier, the late payment and the next regular payment can appear very close together for the same amount. Review the last several months of your Microsoft order history and bank/PayPal statements to compare the dates and amounts.
    2. If the charge does not appear in the Microsoft account order history, use Payment options or Manage your payments and select Investigate. This helps check whether the same card or payment method is being used on another Microsoft account, such as a family member’s account.
    3. If the text says the balance is overdue, sign in to Services & subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services, find the subscription marked past due, and select Pay now. Then verify the payment method on that subscription. If the previous card or PayPal method is no longer valid, update it or add a new payment method and complete the payment. Microsoft states that gift cards, subscription cards, and Microsoft account balance cannot be used to pay a past-due subscription.
    4. If the subscription was purchased through a third-party retailer, the payment method must be managed through that retailer instead of directly in the Microsoft account.
    5. If the charges remain unexplained or a refund is needed, use Contact Microsoft Support: go to Contact Microsoft Support, enter the billing problem, select Get Help, and then Contact Support.
    6. If the payment method may have been compromised, contact the bank or payment provider immediately to prevent further charges. Disputing charges alone does not stop additional fraudulent charges.
