Upgrading Subscription Issues

Because I purchased my 365 family license in Lanzarote (Spain), when I try to upgrade my license to premium, the system will not let me.

The advice I have received from Microsoft Support is to let the family license run down (it has another 7 weeks) and then buy a 365 premium license. I want the latter now, but can't seem to do this without cancelling my family license. I am worried that if I do this, I will lose all my details, like folders, etc. Will this happen?

    Hello

Is it because you are no longer in Spain?

If so, the support advice given to you is correct. Microsoft 365 products are country restrictive. If you are no longer in Spain, you have to let the current one expire first. Then update your profile's info to match the current country you are in, and add a payment method from the new country. Then subscribe to the premium plan.
It is all explained here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/accounts-billing/change-your-country-or-region-in-microsoft-store

As long as you do this with the same Microsoft account, as soon as it expires, you won't experience data loss at all. Microsoft doesn't provide a generous window before any permanent deletion.
