To find a driver for a K-Comer thermal printer in Windows 11:
- First check Windows Update or the printer manufacturer’s support site for a driver that matches the exact printer model and the Windows system type.
- Make sure the driver matches the PC architecture. A 64-bit version of Windows requires a 64-bit printer driver. A 32-bit driver cannot be used on 64-bit Windows.
- If Windows cannot find a suitable driver, download one from the printer manufacturer that matches:
- Windows version
- system type: 32-bit or 64-bit
- Install the driver, then restart the PC.
- If the printer still is not detected, remove and reinstall it:
- Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners
- Select the printer > Remove device
- Restart the PC
- Go back to Printers & scanners > Add a printer or scanner
- As a last resort, use the Add Printer Driver Wizard:
- Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners
- Printer server properties
- Drivers tab > Add...
- In the wizard, select the processor architecture
- Select Windows Update to download the latest printer list
- Choose the manufacturer and printer model
- Finish the wizard
- If no exact driver exists, a compatible driver may work if the printer supports the same printer emulation, such as PostScript or PCL. Print a configuration page from the printer if available, identify the supported emulation, then choose a driver for a printer model that uses the same emulation.
If the manufacturer does not provide a compatible Windows driver, support for the printer depends on the hardware manufacturer or printer manufacturer.
