    Hello,

    1. May I know whether you are using Windows or macOS? (Please share the OS details, including the edition and version.
    2. What exact error message do you receive when you run the Office setup files on your computer?

Do you have a previous version of Office installed? If so, uninstall all previous Office installations and run the Office setup files.

If you are still having issues, please take a screenshot of the error and upload it here for reference.

    Try these in order:

    1. Restart the device Wait a few minutes, restart Windows, sign back in, and try opening Word or Excel again.
    2. Repair Microsoft 365 On Windows 10:
      • Right-click Start
      • Select Apps and Features
      • Select the Microsoft Office product
      • Select Modify
      • Choose Online Repair > Repair
If the installation is MSI-based, select Repair and then Continue. On Windows 11:
      • Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features
      • Select the More icon next to the app
      • Open Advanced options
      • Select Repair
      • If that does not work, select Reset
Note: repairing Office repairs the whole suite, not just one app.
    3. If the app shows a subscription notice instead of opening
      • If it says Product deactivated, select Sign in and enter the Microsoft 365 account used for the subscription.
      • If it says Couldn’t Verify Subscription, reconnect to the Internet and select Retry.
      • If it says Unlicensed Product, use the activation troubleshooting steps in the activation error article.
    4. Run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant On a Windows 10 or later PC, run the Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter on the same PC where Microsoft 365 is installed, then follow the prompts.
    5. If repair and the troubleshooter do not fix it, reinstall Office
      • Deactivate the Office install
      • Completely uninstall Office using the Microsoft uninstall method
      • Reinstall Office
    6. If the subscription is active but notifications continue Check the subscription status in Services & subscriptions. If Microsoft 365 was bought as a physical box or card, the product key may still need to be redeemed before the subscription starts.

If nothing opens at all after install, the most relevant next step is Online Repair, then full uninstall and reinstall if repair fails.
