Confused trying to use MS Authenticator App on iPhone 12

I have a Microsoft 365 subscription and am trying to set things up so I can use the Authenticator App on my iPhone to use passwordless login to my account. Is there some step by step procedure documented somewhere? First of all, I installed the app from the App Store, but I don't see an icon for it anywhere on my phone (if there is one?). I am relatively new to using my iPhone as a tool for two-factor authentication to login to applications on the web; I just don't know where to start. Any help is appreciated. The Authenticator app appears on the list in my iPhone Settings, but no icon outside Settings.
