    Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-tRV1q5BEU

Click the white cloud icon, then sign in to OneDrive with your Microsoft account.

It's best to sign in to your computer with your Microsoft account and have OneDrive set to start automatically. To do that, go to Windows Start > Settings > Apps > Startup and toggle Microsoft OneDrive to ON.

"how do i access my one drive on my desktop from my laptop"

OneDrive is actually online storage, so your OneDrive is on the internet, not your desktop.

Because your OneDrive is on the internet, you can access your OneDrive from any computer, tablet or phone that can connect to the internet.

They key thing to remember is that OneDrive is one of the many features of a Microsoft account, so in order to access your OneDrive on your laptop, you need to know the username and password of your Microsoft account. If you have more than one Microsoft account, you need to know the username and password for the Microsoft account which has the OneDrive you want to access.

    Here are the steps:

1- On your laptop, open any web browser.

    2- Navigate to https://onedrive.live.com

3- Sign in with the correct username and password.

You are now able to use your OneDrive from your laptop.

If you use the same Microsoft account on both devices, and have OneDrive enabled on both devices to sync your files, then your files should automatically sync between the two devices.

If you do not use the same Microsoft account on both devices, or do not sync your files on the laptop, if you log into OneDrive in a web browser (https://onedrive.live.com/), you can access your Desktop files from there.

Sign in to OneDrive on the laptop with the same Microsoft account used on the desktop computer; files that have finished syncing will then appear in File Explorer.

    1. Ensure the desktop computer uploads the files

    On the desktop computer:

    1. Select the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar notification area.
    2. Select Help & Settings → Settings → Sync and backup → Manage backup.
    3. Turn on Desktop and any other folders you need, such as Documents or Pictures, then select Save changes.
    4. Wait for OneDrive to finish syncing before turning off the desktop. Backed-up Desktop files become available on other devices running OneDrive. ^1^

This provides access to files synchronized with OneDrive; it does not remotely open or control the desktop computer.

    2. Open those files on the laptop

    On the Windows laptop:

    1. Select Start, type OneDrive, and open it.
    2. Enter the same personal Microsoft account used on the desktop, then select Sign in.
    3. Complete the setup using the default OneDrive folder.
    4. Open File Explorer → OneDrive – Personal. Your synchronized files should appear there, including the Desktop folder if its backup was enabled. ^2^

If OneDrive is already connected to another account on the laptop, select the taskbar cloud icon, then Settings → Account → Add an account.

    If files are missing

Check the OneDrive cloud icon on the desktop computer. It should report Up to date. Files stored outside OneDrive or outside folders enabled under Manage backup will not appear on the laptop until moved into OneDrive or included in folder backup.
