Service Bus Queue graph is flat

I'm relatively new to queues, but think I know enough to get started, but I've run into a problem with a new queue I've created.

We are currently using a service bus queue successfully and its handling many messages a day. I have now created a second queue with the same settings as the first, and have sent many messages to it (see active count in the screenshot).

But the Messages graph is flat and the totals below it (Incoming/Outgoing) have no values.

I dont understand how this can be? How can the queue have active messages sitting in it but the Message graph not show them? Am I misunderstanding what the graph is showing? Or have I not fully enabled the queue?
